How sturdy is Bird Buddy? Is it weatherpoof?
Bird Buddy is one tough cookie! It is built to withstand all kinds of weather, and build quality was one of our main goals, so you can trust that it is built to last and record plenty of good times. The central module that houses the camera is weatherproof and will withstand temperature ranges of -5°F to 120°F. It is also detachable so you can easily take it out and safely store it inside on extreme days.

Universal Mount
The two mounts that are included in every order are the pole mount and the hanging cord.
The pole mount you’ll be able to attach to any pole with a 1” (2.5cm) diameter, and the hanging cord can be used to hang the Bird Buddy from places like a tree branch, a pole with a hook, a beam, etc.
The wall mount can be screwed into the wall, or fastened to a vertical railing with a strap, string, or even zip ties (we added two bigger additional holes to the mount to make that possible).
The fence mount will come with a Velcro strap that you’ll run through the designated holes, and the silicone wings on the mount will ensure maximum stability there as you wrap the strap around the top fence railing. The wall mount and the fence mount will work in tandem with the included pole mount, since that’ll be how you then attach the Bird Buddy to the wall/fence mount (the bottom of the pole mount will slot into the wall/fence mount).

How secure is the Bird Buddy to theft?
The electronic module of Bird Buddy will be secured onto the feeder with a unique security screw that will require a dedicated wrench to remove. Without that wrench, the thief would be unable to remove the electronic module, and therefore once the charge on the battery runs out, the feeder would be rendered useless. As far as physical theft of the feeder, we, unfortunately, cannot be held liable as that will depend on the location of your feeder and other factors we do not have any control over. We are considering the addition of the Kensington Security Slot in future generations of Bird Buddy, but this is not something we plan to implement just yet. As far as the solar panels are concerned, there’s no need to worry - we have since redesigned the solar panels to actually form a fully fitted solar roof, which will cover Bird Buddy’s existing one. It will be plugged into your electronic module and the charge will be regulated; there is built-in charging circuitry to ensure that the battery is well protected and optimized when plugged into the solar charger. Since the solar roof was designed specifically for Bird Buddy, the specifications will be optimal by default.

When will I receive my Holiday gift card?
As the deadline for ordering the gift card has passed we offer instructions for a printable version below. We’ve designed it as a papercraft birdhouse that you can print and assemble yourself into a beautiful Bird Buddy gift box! Besides the papercraft birdhouse it also includes a design for a lovely gift card and a card with gorgeous Bird Buddy photos so your giftee will know that they’re getting something beautiful! What are the hanging options for the Bird Buddy?
You can mount your Bird Buddy on a pole, a wall, or a fence;

Hanging cord: This allows you to hang Bird Buddy from just about anywhere!
Pole mount: Bird Buddy comes with a pole mount that can be fitted atop a 1” or 25,4 mm pole.

Wall mount: Mounting Bird Buddy on a wall is incredibly easy. Just drop it onto the wall mount plate and rotate it in your preferred direction.
Fence mount: The fence mount is as convenient as ever! It suits fences of different sizes, and the universal mount allows you to rotate it, too.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
